With the downturn in the economy and uncertain times ahead I realized we needed to expand our sales channels and target the end users of our products, as our traditional market (being other business customers) was in decline and we had no control and or influence over their customers. After some initial trials for web generated inquiries towards the end of 2008 we decided that we should again use this medium to generate genuine sales leads. We had an existing business relationship with James Powell (one of the founders of Peraffic) so we decided to engage James and Peraffic again to conduct a web based project to develop genuine leads for our manufacturing business. We had considered using the principles employed by Peraffic to do our own campaign, but to short circuit the mistakes and maximise the available budget we decided we would get a better return by using the expertise of James and his team and in a shorter time frame.
Now whilst the project has only been going some two weeks, within the space of 2 days we had genuine leads to respond to with quotations for our current products. The results are quite incredible when you consider the simplicity of the web pages employed to solicit business leads, but the expertise comes from the methods and strategies used to drive traffic to the WebPages. From here James and his team will refine the traffic and drive down the cost per click of the Advert keywords employed.
The project so far has demonstrated that you can very quickly and reasonably inexpensively generate genuine sales leads economically via the web. However, more importantly it brings into question the effectiveness of some very fancy and expensive web developments, business owners need to ask if their websites are generating a regular and cost effective source of sales leads. From the outset the project was generating at least one sales lead per day, this has now increased to around 4 leads per day and these are all leads we would not have received without the lead generation project
In these difficult economic times you must employ every tool possible to source new business and this needs to be done cost effectively. I would encourage you to use the principles employed by Peraffic and recommend using them for conducting a similar lead generation project because in reality many small to medium businesses do not have the time, resources and or expertise to quickly and efficiently do such a project.
